What Eyelid Surgery Will Do:
- Remove excess skin in the upper eyelid
- Remove excess fat in the lower eyelid
- Give you is a more wide-awake, rested appearance
- Widen peripheral vision
- In some cases resolve "eye strain"
What It Won't Do:
This procedure won't remove "crow's feet," lift sagging eyebrows, or remove dark circles under the eyes. We have other procedures and treatments for those problems: Botox, brow lifts, and Obagi skin care to name a few.
Upper Lids, Under the Eyes, or Both
Some people only need the area underneath their eyes improved.
Others only need help with upper lids, and some need help
in both areas. During your consultation, we can design
a plan that addresses all of your concerns.
The Surgery
This is a very light, minor procedure. It usually takes
about 30-90 minutes and is done in the surgical unit in
our building. Often it is performed under local anesthesia
with sedation (twilight sleep), or, if you prefer, you
can be completely asleep.
The procedure is typically painless, although you may
have occasional mild discomfort.
You will be allowed to leave our surgical facility shortly
after surgery. Most often, bandages are not required.
You won't be allowed to drive yourself home, so arrange
to have a family member or friend come with you.

After the Surgery
- Expect swelling and some bruising.
- If you use blood-thinners like aspirin or Coumadin
you may have more bruising.
- Your eyes may feel tight and sore, especially the
first week after surgery.
Home Care
- Apply ice packs for the first 2 days post-op
- You may require oral pain medications for the first
few days
- If your eyes become dry and somewhat irritated, apply
lubricating tears or lubricating ophthalmic ointment.
If your swelling is quite significant, your vision may
be blurred or, occasionally, even double. This will resolve
once the swelling subsides.

The Healing Process
- Swelling and bruising improve within 3-14 days.
- Stitches will be removed in 4-7 days.
- Contact lenses may be worn in 7-14 days.
- Glasses may be worn immediately.
- Eye make-up may be worn in 7-10 days.
- You will be presentable in public in 3-14 days with
the help of make-up.
- 2 weeks post-op you will begin to see aesthetic results
Final

This is one of the procedures we do that always gets raves.
The results will last for many years, possibly for the
